Governor Scott signs Religious Liberties Act into Law!
Pastora Lidia,
FLORIDA- On Friday, June 9th Governor Scott signed SB-436, the Florida Student and School Personnel Religious Liberties Act (FSASPRLA), a bill to prohibit discrimination against students, school personnel and parents based on their religious viewpoint or expression.
For example, teachers will now be able to pray with students before and/or after school in settings such as “See You at the Pole” an event where students pray for their teachers and administrators before school in front of the flagpole or after school during bible club meetings.
CFC Florida was the only statewide organization to show up for the fight on this bill during the 2017 legislative session, we lobbied legislators, deployed emails, submitted testimony, recruited highly qualified speakers to testify at all five hearings on this bill, this effort, along with emails and phone calls from thousands of CFC Florida members and supporters this bill was signed into law.
You did it! With your calls, emails and support CFC Florida was able to pass SB-436 and beat anti-Christian organizations like the Human Rights Campaign and “Equality” Florida, homosexual hate groups who unsuccessfully tried to silence religious liberties in schools throughout Florida by opposing this bill, they failed!

CFC Florida Statement:
“We thank our legislative sponsors, State Senator Dennis Baxley and State Representatives Kimberly Daniels and Patricia Williams for courageously filing this bill despite strong opposition.
Thank you to all our CFC Florida members and supporters who signed the petition and made their voices heard. Our hard work throughout the 2017 legislative session has paid off. Religious liberty is a right in this nation that we need to continue fighting for it. We will always be your voice in government against discrimination.”
